This dramatic change gives Poppy the chance to fit in and the opportunity to change the person she is. Poppy decides she does not want to stay at the school, therefore she decides to pull a series of acts that will and get her expelled, during this adventure Poppy discovers new friends, feelings and her real self. PRODUCTION CONTEXT Wild Child was made in 2008 by the famous director, Nick Moore as he is known for producing movies of rebellious children and teenagers which is aimed for the whole family to enjoy. Other movies that he is known for are Horrid Henry: The Movie and Pudsey The Dog: The Movie. The film is quintessentially British, being filmed in actual British locations, and also at the school they use the British school structure instead of the American. It also includes many English sayings such as 'snog' meaning kiss and 'that is butters' means that it is ugly, these sayings would either make various audiences finding it weird or humorous. In the movie, it is also interesting that there are mostly white people but with one of the friends, Kiki being caucasian. This could represent that the British community is becoming more diverse. |
